This summer, I have been thinking deeply about legacy.
We often think of legacy as what we leave behind—property, wealth, or accomplishments. But true legacy is not merely what remains after we are gone. Legacy is what we set in motion today.
As America marks its 250th year, we should ask: What kind of nation—and what kind of faith—will we leave to the next generation?
Even through youth today are facing extreme cultural challenges, I remain hopeful because I have seen (thousands of times over) what happens when young people are equipped to think clearly, believe boldly, and engage their peers in winsome, evidence-based Conversations of Consequence that become natural on-ramps to Gospel discussions.
That is why Y2Believe exists. Our vision is simple: students equipping students.
Y2B identifies exceptional college-aged Christian leaders and trains them how to apply apologetics to evangelism. Our model is 20% instruction, 80% application via hands-on experience in public engagement. These are not simply employees, they are the most gifted, faithful, and promising young people—and they are passing a torch of hope to their younger peers, something they can pass to their peers.
We are not building another large institution. We are building a multiplying movement.
They are ready to devote themselves fully to this work, but we cannot responsibly ask them to do so without sustainable employment, fully paid healthcare, and a matching 403(b) retirement plan. Our budget goals double each year, but we are lean. More than 95% of the resources entrusted to Y2Believe go directly toward salaries and programs supporting the college-aged staff carrying out this mission.
I have never been comfortable simply asking people to donate. I would rather invite people to see our vision and decide whether it is worthy of their prayers and investment. Our model continuously has lowered costs from ~$140/student equipped 7 years ago, down to ~$12 today, moving towards our goal of $1/student equipped 7 years from now.
So, I am not asking you merely to donate. I am inviting you to become an investor in the next generation.
